THE UNITED NATIONS 2030 AGENDA
Under the 2030 Agenda, the United Nations have formulated a blueprint of the
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that we should all aspire to, on a global scale.
The UN Agenda 2030 is not simply some pie-in-the-sky wishlist, but represents a fundamental part of their aim for the global community to tackle the most salient and pressing of challenges facing the world today, inclusive of climate change, environmental degradation, health, sustainability and scarcity of the world’s resources and of course, poverty.
The pandemic highlighted problems we did not know we had
The pandemic which has swept the world has not, as so many of these things do, simply affected “other people”; but has swept through the world, regardless of creed, colour, wealth etc., and has shown how health, food security and food accessibility can instantly become major difficulties for any nation.
GBS CAN MAKE SIGNIFICANT POSITIVE IMPACTS
Across all projects undertaken by GBS, we have always carefully considered our impact in the context of various social and environmental facets. Our aspirations today involve a genuine approach to making positive impacts on both a local and global scale.
Of course, we intend to be profitable and grow the business to its full potential. We will continue to focus on our mutual core values in the process. It would seem that the more we produce, the greater our positive impact can be.
With the combination of our major spheres of activity in producing sustainable and energy-saving construction materials such as the eco-panels, support for Passivhaus, the manufacture of fast-build structures from sustainable materials, and our unique Modular Vertical and Urban farms, which will produce healthy fresh crops almost anywhere in the world, and healthcare plants and herbs with options using renewable energy systems; it is easy to see where we can directly make a valuable contribution.
UNITED NATIONS SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS
It is possible to envisage other areas within the UN’s goals where GBS can make a positive contribution:
GOAL 8: DECENT WORK AND ECONOMIC GROWTH
Supporting local communities via job creation and with achieving sustainable growth. With GBS’s own employment policies and aims, we can make an impact on supporting the marginalised and disadvantaged.
GOAL 12: RESPONSIBLE CONSUMPTION AND PRODUCTION
Avoiding the waste of water through sustainable consumption.
GOAL 17: PARTNERSHIPS FOR THE GOALS
Creation of new GBS partnerships via its technology.
Together, all things are possible. Alone, we remain one small voice.
